ABOUT THE FEARLESS ORGANIZATION SCAN
Agility, innovation and team effectiveness all start with psychological safety. Over 20 years of research at Harvard University demonstrates that teams and organizations with higher levels of psychological safety perform better on almost any metric or KPI in comparison to teams and organizations that have low psychological safety.
Based on Prof Amy Edmondson’s research, the Fearless Organization Scan measures psychological safety at both an individual and team level and can scale to any size. This course will teach you to administer, interpret and utilise the Fearless Organization Scan to identify levels of Psychological Safety for teams and organisations.

“Throughout my corporate career, I have experienced the complexities of running large organisations, and I know first-hand how psychological safety plays an essential role in building high-performing teams. Now, as a consultant and coach, I often see my clients understand this but struggle with how to start.
This program delivered more than it promised. It transformed the abstract idea of psychological safety into a tangible toolkit and empowered me to support companies in making meaningful changes. Plus, I could join a community of like-minded professionals. With the help of the outstanding Mark and Sasi, I have not only developed my professional skills, but also experienced true personal growth.
I wholeheartedly recommend this program to anyone who wants to learn and experience how to turn theoretical knowledge into practical expertise."
In 2016, Google completed the largest ever study on "how to build the perfect team".
After tracking 15,000 employees over 5 years, the data was conclusive:
psychological safety is the number 1 factor in team effectiveness. After this finding, the 25+ years of research by Professor Amy C. Edmondson of Harvard Business School gained prominence.
In 2019, Amy published The Fearless Organization: Creating Psychological Safety in the Workplace for Learning, Innovation, and Growth. And in 2019, the Fearless Organization Scan was born.
The Fearless Organization Scan uses Amy’s research to map how team members perceive the level of psychological safety within their closest community – benchmarking them against the best.
The Four Dimensions
Breaking this down into four dimensions provides a critical predictor of how a team will learn and work together and facilitates opportunities to improve team performance
In 2020, in partnership with Caerus Change, the Fearless Organization launched an accreditation programme to enable internal practitioners to administer and deploy The Fearless Organization Scan within their organisation.
The program consists of five facilitator-led group sessions (delivered via Zoom) that deliver concepts and content through a blend of highly experiential activities, shared learning and reflection, brainstorming of ideas, and guided analysis and interpretation of scan results. This allows practitioners of different backgrounds to understand and integrate the
Fearless Organization Scan
into their current practice models.
The certification program consists of:
During the program you will learn to set up and scan a pilot team using the FOS portal and will have access to your own personal Fearless Organization Scan dashboard.
